2 Website hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages by GitHub, Inc., USA. When you visit the website, technically necessary connection and request data are processed, including your IP address and, depending on the request, the time, requested file, browser information and referring page. GitHub confirms that it logs the IP addresses of visitors to GitHub Pages websites for security purposes.
We use hosting to make the website reliably available and keep it secure. The legal basis for the processing we initiate is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and functional operation of our website. GitHub also processes certain operational and security data as an independent controller. Retention depends on the relevant operational or security purpose, any necessary investigations and legal obligations. Further information is available in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
3 Enquiries through the contact form or by email
When you contact us, we process the information you provide, including your name, email address or telephone number, company where applicable, project details, preferred contact time and the content of subsequent correspondence. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, arrange a conversation and, where appropriate, prepare a proposal.
For enquiries concerning a contract with you, processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For general enquiries or where you act on behalf of a company, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is handling incoming business enquiries and communicating with business contacts. Measures against spam and abuse also rely on our legitimate interest in keeping this communication channel secure.
Providing information is voluntary. We need the information marked as required in the form to identify and respond to your enquiry; without a suitable means of contacting you, we cannot reply. Other information is optional. Please do not submit sensitive personal data. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter or general marketing communications.
4 Form processing by Formspree
We use Formspree, Inc., USA, to process contact form submissions. When you submit the form, your entries are transmitted to Formspree, processed there and forwarded to us. Technical data, such as your IP address and the time of the request, are also processed for transmission and protection against abuse. Formspree processes form data on our behalf as a processor; the provider’s information also applies to certain operational and security activities carried out for its own purposes.

Formspree uses infrastructure in the USA. Information about international transfers and safeguards is provided in Section 7 and in Formspree’s Privacy Policy.

Adobe uses this information to provide the service, diagnose errors and account for font licensing. According to Adobe, its web font delivery service does not use cookies for this purpose and does not store the IP address received for delivery.

We store your font preference in your browser’s local storage for six months to respect your choice. This preference storage is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where applicable, the exception for necessary storage under Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021).

7 Transfers outside the EEA
The services described above may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, particularly in the USA. GitHub and Adobe state that they use the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers and standard contractual clauses where required. Formspree states that it relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses when acting as a processor. Adequacy decisions are based on Article 45 GDPR; standard contractual clauses are safeguards under Article 46 GDPR.
You can request information about the applicable safeguards and a copy of relevant contractual safeguards by emailing anna@habitat-marketing.com. Further information is available from GitHub, Formspree and Adobe.
8 Retention
We retain enquiries and related correspondence for as long as necessary to handle them and carry out requested steps before entering into a contract. Once the enquiry has been dealt with, we delete the data unless statutory retention obligations or specific requirements to establish, exercise or defend legal claims justify continued retention. These criteria also apply to copies of form submissions held by Formspree and to forwarded emails; copies that are no longer needed are deleted.
If a contractual relationship results, we retain the data needed to perform the contract. Tax-relevant records are generally retained for seven years to comply with legal obligations, on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Where specific data are necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, we retain them for the necessary period on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Technical logs and backups are subject to the respective providers’ purpose-specific retention and deletion procedures.

Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. In Austria: Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, email: dsb@dsb.gv.at, www.dsb.gv.at.
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you.
